DEPM has over one hundred staff and plays a prominent role in public health medicine in Australia. The core skills of the department relate to epidemiology (the study of the distribution, risk factors and causes of disease) and its application to problems in clinical medicine and public health.
We also undertake consultancies and contract research, provide advice to state and federal government, and train future doctors, medical researchers and public health managers.
We have a very successful PhD program, with 50 students enrolled.
DEPM is also home of the
and the recently established National Intensive Care Research Centre
We are also partners in -
